About Acorn Cottage
This lovely dog-friendly stone barn conversion is ideal for families, couples or friends meeting up from different parts of the country. Its peaceful location lends itself to romantic breaks, relaxing short breaks, walking trips or just exploring the wonderful Peak District and stately homes.
The cottage provides comfy accommodation for 4 people that feels homely and welcoming. The living room boasts a log burner, two sofas, a Smart TV and DVD player. Logs are included.
The spacious kitchen/dining area is well equipped for self-catering and is great for socialising. If you are on a workation, there is space to spread out your papers and connect through the free Wifi. The light airy garden room is ideal for reading and a bit of peace and quiet whilst listening to the birdsong outside.
Upstairs you’ll find a double and a twin bedroom, and a bathroom with bath and WC. The ground floor shower room with WC is great for those who prefer to go upstairs just once a day, or for two couples staying.
The garden room can easily be converted into a downstairs en-suite bedroom with a single j-bed bed and direct access to the downstairs shower room for those who prefer not to go upstairs. Please ask for more information.
The sunny private lawned garden is perfect for children and dogs, or for chilling with a glass of wine and planning your next adventure. This is your time to relax, unwind and enjoy the peace of the countryside, or maybe a bit of stargazing on a clear night. The garden is enclosed by stone walls and hedges, but a tying ring is provided for the Houdini dog in your life!
There is ample off road parking at Acorn Cottage and an EV charger for which we make a small charge to cover the cost of electricity used.
Visiting friends and family in the area? Why not invite them over to Acorn Cottage for the day or evening? Just let us know and we can provide extra dining chairs and a put-up bed for that extra person, at a small charge.
Breakfast packs of homemade bread, our own sausages, bacon and eggs are available for you to buy to cook in the Cottage or take home when you leave. Don’t forget to ask about honey from our own beehives.
Jo and Veronica live on site and are happy to suggest days out or places to eat and to answer any questions before or during your visit to Acorn Cottage. We love sharing this beautiful part of Derbyshire with you and our passion is making sure you have a great time. We pride ourselves on our customer care and attention to the detail of your holiday and hope to see you soon!
PLEASE NOTE: Acorn Cottage is no smoking including vaping and naked flames (candles, tea lights etc). This applies to all parts of the cottage and outside on the smallholding, but guests are welcome to smoke in the private garden.
