Chatsworth House
Chatsworth House is a magnificent House, estate and grounds belonging to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire.
Pubs and Restaurants near Acorn Cottage, Ashover
Acorn Cottage has a fully fitted and well-equipped kitchen and dining area ideal for eating in. Our home produce is available to order and we are well-serviced by home deliveries from Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and Tesco supermarkets.
If you prefer to eat out during your stay at Acorn Cottage, the Kelstedge Inn is a 10 minute walk away and there are 3 pubs in Ashover, just over a mile from the Cottage. All are dog friendly. We’re happy to make a reservation for you.
Further afield you’ll find many different eateries to suit all budgets in Matlock and Chesterfield including Italian, Chinese, Indian and Pizzas. Many of these do takeaways also. We have exceptional fish & chips locally despite being about as far from the sea as you can get!
If you’re looking for something a bit special, Piedaniel in Bakewell is a lovely small French restaurant, or just up the road you’ll find Peak Edge Hotel and The Bull’s Head at Holymoorside.
Stamp Cafe in Ashover and Marsh Green Farm Shop in Kelstedge are great places for coffee and cake or lunch and a natter.

Our local pub just 10 minutes walk has a good selection of beers, great food, outside seating … what more could you ask for!
Heights of Abraham
Hilltop park reached by cable car from Matlock Bath - cavern tours, walking trails and café. A great family day out!

National Trust
We are blessed to be so close to many National Trust properties offering excellent days out (and tea rooms!) during all weathers.

Haddon Hall is the finest example of a medieval manor house currently in existence in England
Cromford Mills
Cromford Mill and Strutt's Mill in Belper are part of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site.
Crich Tramway Village
Be transported back in time - ride the trams through the period village and visit shops, tearooms and pub.
The Tuck Shop for gifts, homemade cakes and ice cream!
This is a lovely little gift shop in Ashover makes lovely cakes and sells Bradwells ice cream.
Black Swan
One of our village pubs just a mile away. Modern interior, dog friendly, serves food!
The Crispin Inn
Another good pub in Ashover and within walking distance of Acorn Cottage. Varied home cooked menu in historic setting with connections to OIiver Cromwell!
